Forging Fremont's Future with a New Partnership
Thursday, May 23, 2013
Officials officially kicked off the state’s newest economic development partnership during the Greater Fremont Development Council’s board meeting Wednesday at the Fremont Golf Club.
GFDC announced in April it was joining the Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership, a program of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce that also includes Douglas, Cass, Sarpy and Washington counties.
“This is an incredible opportunity, I believe, for the Fremont Chamber and the City of Fremont, and frankly all of Dodge County, to be part of a major metropolitan effort involving our state’s largest city, Omaha, and all of the economic activity that’s going on in this area,” Gov. Dave Heineman told about 50 people gathered for the noon luncheon.
He and David Brown, chief executive officer and president of the Omaha Chamber, were guest speakers.
