Cultivating positive youth development

Monday, September 28, 2015

The experiences you have as a child help shape who you become as an adult.  Since youth today are prone to detached interactions, it seems critical to facilitate authentic, face-to-face experiences that help them develop positive skills and behaviors, and a sense of belonging.

Camp programs are an effective way to facilitate such growth. And Fremont's Christensen Family YMCA Camp will aim to do just that. Set to open in the summer of 2015, the impressive camp occupies 120 acres of land and a 50-acre lake. It will be a wonderful resource for the community, and particularly youth.
