Greater Fremont Development Council to assess business impact of COVID-19

Fremont, NE., July 8, 2020 – The Greater Fremont Development Council (GFDC) has launched a Dodge County Business Impact Survey to assess the impact of COVID-19 on local businesses. The survey will run from July 8th through July 17th, 2020 and can be taken online.

GFDC previously surveyed local businesses in April, 2020. By asking similar questions, the organization will be able to ascertain the extent of the impact COVID-19 has had on current operations and future growth plans.

“We are hoping to find out how businesses have been impacted by COVID-19, if they are now opening back up to normal operations, what their employment numbers are today and what they anticipate them being in the future.  For example, are they reducing staff or increasing staff? Answers will help us to determine how to best allocate time and resources to supporting the business community,” said Stephanie Schurkamp, Director of Business Services for GFDC.

Survey questions are designed to ascertain operation status, employment changes and future plans per industry. In addition, the survey asks companies if they have applied for or received any loan or grant support. Participants are also invited to leave comments.

“At GFDC we are actively taking steps to support local businesses as they recover from COVID-19 disruptions. Industry data allows us to tailor our response to provide the most effective support possible,” said Garry Clark, Executive Director of the Greater Fremont Development Council.

Businesses who participate can also request a Zoom meeting with Stephanie Schurkamp to discuss any needs that they may have. As the Director of Business Services, Schurkamp helps businesses to solve challenges and capitalize on opportunities. She also coordinates services and programs with local partners, making her an ideal contact for businesses in need of support during the recovery process.

All local businesses are encouraged to participate in the Dodge County Business Impact Survey and to share the survey with other local businesses. The survey can be accessed here http://survey.constantcontact.com/survey/a07eh6hvd5zkc54jjaq/a009kcawk6fr/questions.
