GFDC would like to announce, with a bit of sadness, coupled, with proud joy, the departure of Barb Pierce. Barb has accepted a tremendous opportunity with the State.

Without the tireless efforts brought by Barb, we wouldn't have had as many successes as we have had. Barb reflects, "my 10 years at Greater Fremont Development Council have been both rewarding and fruitful. I am proud to have served alongside an outstanding board of directors during a season of visioning and planning in 2012, joining the Greater Omaha Economic Development Partnership in 2013, landing of LPP/Costco in 2016, the Fremont Talent Ready Initiative in 2017, and the creation of the Dodge County Investment Fund for housing development in 2018.  While I will miss working with Fremont’s stellar business community and passionate education & resource partners, I am excited to serve Nebraska communities in my new position at the Department of Economic Development as the Northeast Nebraska Housing Program Representative. I sincerely thank my current board and the incredibly talented GFDC staff for all the support throughout my tenure. I extend my best wishes to all I have worked alongside and am excited for the bright future ahead for both GFDC and the community."

Because of the hard work and dedication she has given to this organization, we thought it would be fitting to host an Open House on her behalf. Come, wish her well and share a story on how Barb impacted you, your business or your organization.

Barb Pierce Farewell Open House

When: Thursday, February 13
Time: 9:30 - 11:30 AM
Where: GFDC Office
1005 E 23rd St, Suite 2

Garry states, "as her teammate, I’d be remissed not to share my utter appreciation for her work ethic and dedication to our mission. If there were ever an example of a teammate making others look good, Barb is that shining example. Barb made us all better by her presence. Fremont has always seen Barb as a key leader, and while we won’t get to see Barb lead under the direct GFDC/GOCC effort, I’m happy to know that Barb will have the opportunity for leadership, flexibility, and time with her family."

While we are sad to see her go, we wish her nothing but success in her future endeavors.
