Empowering entrepreneurs is at the core of the Fremont Creative Collective (FCC) mission, whether it’s through networking and the sharing of ideas via ongoing events or equipping them with the know-how to build a successful business plan or raise capital.

“The Fremont Creative Collective is about more than education, it’s about opportunity. By offering free, accessible learning sessions and a culminating Pitch Event with real funding on the line, we’re helping foster innovation, entrepreneurship, and long-term economic growth right here in the Fremont area,” said Kelsey Martinez, Fremont Creative Collective Vice President.

A Partnership Driving Entrepreneurial Growth

Collaboration is key for the FCC, and it is perhaps best demonstrated through its partnership with the Greater Fremont Development Council (GFDC). Together, the organizations work to strengthen Fremont’s entrepreneurial ecosystem by aligning resources, expanding access to education, and supporting small business growth at every stage.
“The GFDC’s partnership with us has encouraged a very important focus on our entrepreneurial community that excites us all,” said Jessica Fickbohm, FCC President and Vice President of Business Development at RVR Bank. “It allows us both to fully and successfully support the growth of entrepreneurs through free educational sessions and resources. Unifying our organizations as we strive for a healthy small business sector and promote collaborative outcomes is a no-brainer.”

How Can You Benefit From the Fremont Creative Collective?

FCC’s mission plays out in a variety of ways that, as Martinez pointed out, goes well beyond the scope of textbook learning.

Its vision is also rooted far deeper than simply outlining a sure fire formula for success.

Existing and budding entrepreneurs who tap into its services benefit wildly from developing a full comprehension of the framework supporting basic, intermediate and advanced operating SOPs.

And as most business owners will testify, this becomes especially fruitful when given the opportunity to collaborate with others who share the same path.

As a result, the approach that FCC takes is both proactive and supportive, equipping enterprising individuals with the tools they need to not only start a business, but to sustain it through waves of economic changes and normal challenges that arise in commerce.

And the non-profit organization achieves that end by bringing its vision to life by:

  • Identifying entrepreneurs and innovators and connecting them with resources
  • Collaborating with partners to offer additional services and resources that assist entrepreneurs
  • Developing and maintaining original content as well as additional resources for local, state and regional startup assistance
  • Using a strengths-based approach that encourages individuals to use their entrepreneurial strengths and creative talents to reshape their lives and community
  • Providing a framework where entrepreneurs and innovators can connect with subject matter experts to share ideas and collaborate
  • Hosting an annual event to give entrepreneurs an opportunity to share their ideas

“The Fremont Creative Collective plays a critical role in supporting small business and startups in the Fremont area by lowering barriers and creating access to real-world education from some of the most qualified professionals,” said Martinez.

A Practical Roadmap for Starting and Sustaining a Business in Fremont

From January through April, FCC also offers six free learning sessions (lunch included) so aspiring entrepreneurs and current business owners can gain the tools, confidence, and connections they need to turn ideas into action.

"Our six-session program gives entrepreneurs a practical roadmap for starting and sustaining a business, and our April Pitch Event takes that support a step further by providing participants the opportunity to compete for $5,000 to help launch or grow their idea,” said Martinez.
