Have you identified a service gap in our area and have a business idea that can solve it?

Do you have an idea for an awesome, unique product that you know everyone is going to love?

Local startups and entrepreneurs will get a shot at winning $5,000 and support for their business during the 2026 Pitch It competition in Fremont.

Hosted by the Fremont Creative Council and Greater Fremont Development Council (GFDC) and presented by RVR Bank, the event will kick off on April 23rd in the Olsen Student Center at Midland University.

“Events like The Pitch play a vital role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Fremont. They create space for new ideas to emerge, encourage local investment in talent, and help build a stronger, more diverse business community,” said GFDC’s Director of Business Services Kelsey Martinez.

Whether you want to start your own business or are looking to expand an existing one, we encourage you to submit your application by March 31st for a shot at the grand prize, which will also include an Entrepreneur Launch Package consisting of:

  • Walnut Radio Starter Plan ($3,000 value)
  • Performance Digital Go-To-Market Growth Bundle ($2,250 value)
  • Individualized Clifton Strengths Coaching Consultation ($400 value)
  • Bronze Membership with Fremont Area Chamber ($350 value)
  • DJ for a Day Spotlight with RVR Bank at Big Dog 98.9/1340 radio ($250 value)

Past contestants have pitched ideas for everything from software and energy drinks to a panel of judges that include area business owners and community leaders. Winners have included:

Does it cost money to enter Pitch It?

Nope. The Pitch It event is free.

Is Pitch It open to the public?

Yes! We encourage all of our community members, friends and family to attend. 

How can I submit an application for Pitch It?

You are welcome to apply via our website.

How many people will be selected to pitch their idea?

Five to six individuals will be selected to pitch.  

If selected, how long can my pitch be?

Each participant gets 15 minutes to pitch their existing business or business idea

Who are the judges?

You’ll pitch to a panel of 5 judges who score your ideas on a rubric.

The pitch event is designed to be a supportive and encouraging environment. Even if your idea isn’t fully formed, this is a great space to refine it, build confidence, and connect with people who genuinely want to see you succeed. The biggest risk is not trying at all. The event gives you a platform to take that first step, and you might be surprised by how much momentum you gain just by putting your idea out there.”

Any entrepreneur who needs some help building their pitch is encouraged to sign up for a FREE “Build Your Pitch” workshop series on April 2nd.

The workshop, hosted by Martinez and 2022 Pitch It winner and PROSPERSHARK CEO Brandon Zobel, will take place from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Anderson Conference Room at Midland University. Lunch will be provided.
