State News
EconomicModeling.com reports that Nebraska is one of the best states when it comes to gaining a larger share of the total job creation. By examining national economic trends and industry growth, as well as unique regional factors, the study's regional competitiveness analysis considered the total number of jobs created in each state, the expected number of jobs based on overall U.S. job growth, and the percentage of jobs that were created due a state's competitive effect. Nebraska was No. 6 in the "competitive effect" ranking. North Dakota was the clear leader, with Texas, Alaska, Louisiana, and South Dakota rounding out the top five. Nevada came in last on the list, followed closely by Arizona and Florida, with the construction sector being the major culprit in those states.
