Greater Fremont Development supports the Fremont Dream It. Do It. program that links local high school students with college credits, local employers, paid internships, invaluable experience, and even additional training and employment opportunities.

As the authority on the attraction, qualification, and development of world class manufacturing talent, The Manufacturing Institute took action and launched the Dream It. Do It. network. Unique to other efforts, Dream It. Do It. offers local manufacturers, schools, community-based organizations and other stakeholders the opportunity to partner with a respected national platform to promote manufacturing as a top tier career choice in the United States.  To find out more about the national program Click Here

Through Dream It. Do It., high school students take four trade courses covering a variety of job skills as well as safety training at Metropolitan Community College, followed by a paid internship at a local business.

The program which first began in the Fall of 2012, is designed to give high school students work experience while also introducing them to the types of jobs available in Fremont.

"We've got companies and we've got a future labor force, and Dream It. Do It. is here to connect those two groups," said Dan Demuth, area director for Fremont Dream It. Do It and Vice President of Christensen Lumber Co. in Fremont, NE.  "By the time they come to work for you, you know that they're dedicated," Demuth said.
