There is a strong relationship between the educational level of a state’s workforce and median wages in the state. The better the education, the more skills a person has, and this leads to better wages. Investing in education is crucial for local economies.
Greater Fremont, Nebraska is fortunate to have a diverse range of educational facilities, including a community college with diverse offerings and to a growing university. Some of these institutions are offering innovative programs in fields that are in demand. For example, Metropolitan Community College is partnering with Fremont Public Schools to help high school students start the path to welding certification with several classes completed before graduation.
