Hansen-Mueller Moves to Fremont
24 Apr 2017
Hansen-Mueller is the latest business to join Fremont’s thriving animal food processing community. We are delighted to have them in the area and for local resident Kathy Butler to be managing the facility. It has been a pleasure working with her on bringing this exciting project to fruition.
Hansen-Mueller
A grain trading company established in 1979, Hansen-Mueller takes a customer first approach to everything they do. They are a mid-sized company that is large enough to be competitive but small enough to handle customized projects for customers. “We listen to our customers to understand what they need. We do business their way customizing our delivery based on their requirements; not every company is willing to do that. In short, we ask them how they want things done, and we make it happen” said Kathy Butler.
Fremont Facility
A 60,000-square-foot facility has been purchased and is currently being renovated to meet their operational needs. Their Fremont bagging facility is designed to process animal feed and pet food. Much of their activity, driven at the request of customers, will be directed at bagging organics. They will have two fully automated, state-of-the-art bagging lines with separate grain receiving pits to ensure that there is no risk of crossover between organic and conventional grains. This helps to preserve the integrity of products that are organically certified.
The facility will open late summer and as that date nears, Hansen-Mueller will be hiring additional employees with more happening as the operation grows.
Why Fremont?
Ms. Butler said, “Customers told us that they like the way we do business. That began a dialogue on how we could partner together, to expand our offerings, and to meet their specific needs in this area. This building along with the support we received from the Fremont community were exactly what we needed.”
Help from Greater Fremont Development Council
GFDC offered services and support to Hansen-Mueller the moment the company reached out and expressed interest in Fremont. GFDC provided exceptional customer service, strict client confidentiality, and the knowledge of the local community and state resources to help Hansen-Mueller make the decision to move to Fremont.
“The GFDC provided local guidance and assisted in talks with government officials and the mayor of Fremont. Everyone opened up their tool boxes making available every tool at their disposal. This is a huge win for us to be in Fremont and we feel honored and welcomed to be part of the Fremont community” said Ms. Butler.
