FREMONT, NE - OCTOBER 6, 2017  Rosenbauer Aerials opened their doors to students from the Fremont High School’s Welding Academy and Machine Tool programs.  Their instructor, Keith Cunnings is the Skilled and Technical Sciences Department Chair and SkillsUSA Advisor.  Rosenbauer Aerials utilizes design, welding and machining skills all within the one facility which Cunnings said, “makes this an excellent tour location” for his students.  “This well-rounded tour is an opportunity for my students to see the skills they are learning put into real-life action. We are grateful to Rosenbauer Aerials for opening their doors to us.”

The Greater Fremont Development Council (GFDC) assisted the tour by covering the cost of transportation in recognition of National Manufacturer’s Day.  GFDC’s Existing Business Director, Barb Pierce, also serving as an Area Director for the Nebraska Dream It Do It organization, explains that “while Manufacturing Day is officially October 6th, companies and community organizations across the country will plan tours, social media events, and special recognition throughout the month of October in celebration of modern manufacturing.  I enjoy having the opportunity to introduce students to the manufacturers within our community. Tours like this highlight the good paying jobs awaiting them right here in Fremont either directly out of high school or once they finish their post-secondary education.”

Rob Kreikemeier, co-owner and CEO of Rosenbauer Aerials, emphasized how events like Manufacturing Day tours “help educate students, their parents and the general public about the rewarding career opportunities found in manufacturing as well as the important role manufacturers play in our community.”

In 1988, Rob and Pam Kreikemeier founded R.K. Aerials, (since renamed Rosenbauer Aerials), with only three employees and a 5,000 square-foot building. Today, the company is a division of Rosenbauer America and employs 80 professionals working in a 98,200 square-foot facility.
