The Fremont Hy-Vee served free breakfast to more than 700 veterans on Veterans Day 2011.
It was a record for the Fremont store and one of the higher veterans' breakfast counts company-wide.
It was also an example of the community involvement that helped Hy-Vee earn the Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce 2011 Business of the Year award for businesses with more than 25 employees.
Hy-Vee will receive the award during the Chamber's annual Membership Awards Luncheon at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Fremont Opera House.
