A group of high school juniors got a taste Wednesday of what it’s like to sit on the Fremont City Council.
The Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce’s Youth Leadership Academy conducted a mock council meeting in the council chambers, complete with Mayor Scott Getzschman officiating, dissenting views from academy “citizens” on local issues, and seven academy members acting as the council.
The mock council culminated a day the teens spent learning from city officials how city government functions.
