Motion picture finishes filming in Fremont and Omaha, features Oscar-nominated and Golden Globe-winning cast
OCTOBER 27, 2014 (LINCOLN, NEB.)—While many independent feature films have been hosted across the state, none have tackled the subject of memory loss with such a personal emphasis, until now.
“IT SNOWS ALL THE TIME” is Nebraska native and Writer, Actor and Producer Erich Hover’s story about his father, Ed Hover, (played by Brett Cullen) who was diagnosed with Frontotemporal Dementia (a disease similar to Alzheimer’s) at the age of 58. The project has been filming on location in Fremont and Omaha for the past 17 days and wrapped this past Sunday.
The Fremont Alzheimer’s Committee, headed by Marvin Welstead, has partnered with Hover, and will host a fundraising coffee at Nye Legacy, 3210 N. Clarkson St., in Fremont, Wednesday, October 29, 9-10 a.m. Media is invited to attend for Q and A. Proceeds from the event will support the efforts of the film that will heighten awareness about the disease.
“We plan on releasing the film through established film festivals across the nation and have already been contacted by several distributors, based on the subject matter,” said Hover. “I feel that the movie’s success will shine a positive light on the state.”
“Film activity brings dollars and jobs to our communities,” said State Film Officer Laurie Richards. “More than half of the 40-person cast and crew are local Nebraskans and for nearly three weeks the movie has brought in revenue to restaurants, lodging properties, car, truck and film equipment rental businesses, and people renting out their properties or businesses for filming.”
Producers Erich Hover and Jay Giannone are joined by Executive Producers Jonas Roeser, Jack Fox, Jane Semel, Walter Thurmond, Brett Cullen and Taryn Manning. Local Unit Production Manager Chad Bishoff is overseeing the shoot with Associate Producers Manya Nogg and Joe Pane, all from Omaha.
Cast includes Hover (“Moneyball”), Cullen (“42” and “Dark Knight”), Oscar nominee Lesley Ann Warren, Giannone (“Gone Baby Gone”) and Manning (“Orange is the New Black” and “Hustle & Flow”). Hip-hop Artist Slaine (“The Town”), Grammy nominee Clinton Sparks, and Sterling Knight (“Disney”) are also part of the cast. The movie, which wraps this month, aims to raise awareness about the progressive, fatal and incurable disease. Ten percent of the movie’s profits will be donated to Dementia/Alzheimer’s research.
