The Nebraska Department of Economic Development offers the Intern Nebraska program for the benefit of both individuals looking for quality paying internships and for companies looking for financial assistance to cover the cost of an internship.
This program is designed to provide grants up to 50%, up to $5,000 of the cost of the internship for eligible projects. Businesses that hire students receiving Pell Grants may be awarded up to 75%, and an additional $2,500, per internship.
A business may apply for funding for up to 10 interns, with a maximum of 5 interns per company location, per year; however, internships may not constitute more than 50% of the Nebraska workforce.
