Representatives from FAMC will provide free health screens and information on various health-related topics. Dr. Erin Cooper will be available from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. to answer health questions and offer additional information on screenings.
Also offered are: Wellness blood profiles for $40; Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) Test for $20; Prostate Specific Antigen (PSA) Test for $20; and Hemoglobin (HgbA1C or A1c) Test for $20. These tests are being offered at a reduced fee and cannot be filed through health insurance.
Hepatitis C Antibody testing will be also be offered at the event, at no cost. This test will detect if you have an antibody against the Hepatitis C Virus. A positive result, indicating an antibody against the Hepatitis C virus, will require further testing, in consultation with your personal physician, to determine the significance of this result. All positive Hepatitis C tests will be reported to the State of Nebraska Department of Health with your name and birth date. We are unable to offer anonymous testing at this time.
For tests requiring a blood draw, a 10 to 12 hour fast is recommended for ideal results. If you are taking medications, take them as scheduled, unless directed differently by your physician. You may drink water or black coffee while fasting. Participants will receive a printout of their results along with a definition of tests and normal values. Cash or personal checks will be accepted on the day of testing.
FAMC’s Health Tracks on the Road is a free event, open to all ages, aimed at improving the overall health status of area residents. You need not be a patient of FAMC or affiliated physicians to attend.
